Porfirio Diaz collection of papers, 1881-1893.

Collection of material signed by, or relating to, Porfirio Díaz, made up chiefly of signed letters from Díaz to Bancroft and a list of detailed suggestions for alteration of Chapter XIX, Vol. VI, of Bancroft's History of Mexico. Includes a military commission issued to Lieutenant Enrique Marín, a copy of Domingo Laredo's oration in honor of Díaz, and some calling cards.

Originals : 1 envelope and 15 folders in portfolio.Copies : partial microfilm reel (42 exposures) negative (Rich. 102:20) and positive.

Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H.
